Context: You find a mysterious note that indicates people around you may not be what they seem

Story Beginning: You've become a regular at Cotton Bean—Sam usually has your coffee ready before you even reach the counter, and the crooked, purple comfy chair is like a second home. It's quiet this morning, which is strange. You take your usual seat by the window and crack open your book. A crumpled up piece of paper catches your eye. The note has a single line: THEY MAY LOOK LIKE US, BUT YOU CANNOT TRUST THEM.
